Choose the correct statement. I. Rayon is also known as Artificial silk. II. Rayon and silk are natural fibres. III. Rayon and Nylon are man-made fibres. IV. Nylon is a man-made fibre.

Acetylene is an artificial fruit ripening agent. To induce ripening in raw fruits Calcium carbide will be sprayed on it, which reacts with water and produce acetylene(C 2 H 2 ) . CaC 2 + 2H 2 O → C 2 H 2 + Ca(OH) 2

Calcium carbide is also used in some countries for artificially ripening fruit. When calcium carbide comes in contact with moisture, it produces acetylene gas, which is quite similar in its effects to the natural ripening agent, ethylene. Acetylene acts like ethylene and accelerates the ripening process.

Carbon Dioxide. Carbon dioxide in the form of dry ice is also important in the making of artificial rain. This chemical is a colorless gas with chemical compound CO 2. While carbon monoxide is carbon atom that bonds only with one oxygen atom, carbon dioxide bonds with two atoms and is not as dangerous as monoxide one.

Ethylene oxide is one of the gases used in microbial sterilization. These gases are toxic and kill all the possible microbes when exposed. Gaseous sterilization is especially useful for drug, food carrying containers. Once the drugs or food packets are arranged in containers for transport, these toxic gases are allowed to pass through.

A coal gasifier used in the production of synthesis gas that is then used to make synthetic natural gas. [1] Synthetic natural gas is a type of gas created from coal that serves as a substitute for natural gas and is suitable for transmission in natural gas pipelines .

Synthetic fuel or synfuel is a liquid fuel, or sometimes gaseous fuel, obtained from syngas, a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, in which the syngas was derived from gasification of solid feedstocks such as coal or biomass or by reforming of natural gas.

Syngas, or synthesis gas, is a fuel gas mixture consisting primarily of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and very often some carbon dioxide. The name comes from its use as intermediates in creating synthetic natural gas (SNG) and for producing ammonia or methanol.
