It does smell very similar to kerosene, though slightly stronger. The fuels themselves are similar. A diesel engine will run on kerosene just fine for quite a while. The different between the fuels is that while diesel fuel is essentially a thin oil, kerosene has no lubricating qualities.

Diesel is a light oil and it feels like a light oil. It doesn't evaporate quickly and it has a distinctive smell that is quite different from gasoline. Gasoline is quite volatile and evaporates quickly. Gasoline ignites very easily with a match, too easily, but diesel is hard or impossible to light with a match.

Cheaper than diesel; Has an odor when burned, the smell can fill the cabin; Has a shorter shelf life due to evaporation ; Diesel-powered RVs: Depending on the chassis will have between 80-120 gallon tanks; Average of 8-18 miles per gallon, with Class C's and A RVs getting less, Class Bs and B+ RVs getting more; More expensive than gas; Available at most but not all gas stations; Has better fuel efficiency, meaning less frequent refills at the gas pump; Diesel burns cleaner than gas (By the ...

Let’s be honest, most people don’t like the pungent smell that comes from diesel. Others could care less if it happens to be available and the cost works better on the budget. Same function, same usage, same acquisition of Natural Gas. It works much like the drilling of oil.

Diesel Stagnation. The gas tanks of vehicles, equipment and power tools are far from an ideal place to store diesel fuel for the long-term. They’re not 100 percent airtight, which means that water and oxygen can get in. Since it’s impossible to shield diesel from these elements indefinitely, it has to be used quickly. So, moral of the story: don’t fill up your diesel tank and let it sit for months on end! Improper Storage Container. This one is pretty obvious but needs to be mentioned ...

Diesel gas is approx. 75 percent kerosene, with added lubricants and a low-sulfur content. Weight. Diesel gas is heavier than jet fuel, with a higher number of slightly larger hydrocarbon chains, though both are primarily paraffin oils (kerosene). Diesel is more viscous than jet fuels. Additives - Jet. Jet fuel often has antifreeze and anti-microbial agents, static dissipaters and corrosion inhibitors added to improve performance in aeronautical engines, whose ambient temperature often ...

This is because diesel cars burn up less fuel than the other category. On the other hand, gas engines are small chain compounds. So, when talked about diesel vs. gasoline environmental impact in terms of CO2, the gas motors emit more carbon dioxide that impacts the ecology more than diesel engines. 4. Nitrogen Oxides.
