Dont use rubber for a patch gas eats rubber in turn will get into your fuel system causing more problems, if the steel line only has a hole and the line is still good i would cut the bad part out and use a compression fitting they work great no clamps no tape it fixes it. 10 minute job. if you dont know what a compression fitting is here is one to look at.
