Can I Install a Gas Fire on an Inside Wall? Yes. A full-balanced flue system heading directly up from the fire or stove through the ceiling of the room would be required in this situation.

Installing a balanced flue for your gas fire is a great option and only requires you to be able to build through an exterior wall. As you won’t be burning solid fuels, a balanced flue doesn’t need to empty at a high level as a class 1 chimney does, so they are much more flexible.

Natural draft fireplaces release the flue gases up a chimney because the gases are hot and rise naturally. This type of fireplace can be installed anywhere a chimney can be installed, which allows the homeowner to consider installation along an interior wall.
